All the Fun of the Fair - @londonbookfair #LBF2019

Just back from a busy three days at the Olympia for this year’s London Book Fair. And as usual it always seems to go by in a blur and you always wish you had more time to explore.

Given that the Fair coincided with 3 crucial voting days in Westminster, there was much talk about Brexit and how it may affect publishing. However as it stands we are none the wiser as to what will or will not happen.

On the self-publishing front I got to meet with and learn some more about companies such as PublishDrive, Bookbaby and Matador - all of whom provide independent authors with some really interesting publishing support options.

And in the wheeling and dealing section of the London Book Fair I was delighted to hear that Anthony Horowitz has secured publication with Century for three crime novels. One follow up to Magpie Murders and two more featuring Daniel Hawthorne who made his debut in “The Sentence is Death”.

All in all this year’s London Book Fair was a very positive experience with some very productive meetings. It was great to be able to show off the latest work from authors including Diane Cook and Harold Cross.
