Based in Ireland but with chapters all over the world, the Legion of Mary is a faith-based organisation founded in Dublin in 1921. The website is content heavy with an extensive archive of articles dating back over 14 years from when the original website was launched. To manage the extensive amount of categorised content we have used Expression Engine CMS which provides Legion of Mary volunteers with a simple and intuitive way to add, edit and manage content on the site.

For a text-heavy website it’s important to focus on a web design that prioritises legibility and clarity. We chose Freight Sans for the body text as it has a large x-height and open apertures enhancing legibility for screen reading large blocks of text.

The clear typography was combined with a fresh colour scheme and simple clean design. Optimised hosting provides a fast loading experience for a high-traffic website with a global audience.
